Columbus Public Schools spends $78,000 in renovations and upgrades as part of a summer remodeling program. Hallways are painted, and modern lighting fixtures (top left) replace the previous ones. Two classrooms for clothing and distributive education are added to the first floor. An attendance office is constructed in what had been a biology storeroom, and an automatic elevator is installed. The teachers' lunchroom is paneled and several new drinking fountains are installed. A section is added to the faculty parking lot (bottom left) nearly doubling its size. The purchase of equipment for study in electronics allows the Industial Arts Department (above) to add a course to the curriculum.
