Beginning in the Summer, DesignGroup, an American Institute of Architects Ohio Gold Medal Firm began major renovations at South High School. This project will include renovating the current 136,900 square-foot structure, as well as building a 17,697 square-foot addition and upgrading the existing athletic facilities and auditorium. Preservation consultants have worked as part of the design team to identify, protect, and enhance significant "character-defining" features of the school and site. South High School was built in 1924, and is considered eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places.
