The South High School Dress Code |
S |
South High School students do not wear uniforms. However, due to neighborhood challenges we restrict the excessive wearing of the color red at the discretion of the administration. Students may not wear items of clothing that would be considered a distraction, inappropriate for school, or offensive. Please see the student handbook and Columbus Board of Education dress policy. |

The South High School Tripod Project |
S |
The Tripod Project is a pilot being conducted by the Columbus City Schools Department of Equity and Multicultural Education, Executive Director, Mr. Kwesi Kambon. The Project is a part of “All Children Achieving” – a comprehensive equity Plan to close achievement gaps in Columbus City Schools. The purpose of Tripod is to increase communication and build knowledge among teachers about ways of achieving success in the classroom by attending to the three “legs” of the Project. By attending to the three “legs,” Content, Pedagogy, and Relationships, with the aim of helping all students, but mainly African American and Latino students, achieve higher levels, the achievement gap can be narrowed, according to research by Tripod Project founder and director Dr. Ronald Ferguson. The goal of the Project is to implement student centered strategies and activities that are narrow yet deep, have a measurable impact on student achievement and relationship building, and to establish a sense of value throughout the South High School community. If you have any questions about the Tripod Project, or would like to become involved in any way, please feel free to see Ms. Nash. Be proactive in strengthening our school community and increasing student achievement! |
